Redesigning a classic film
Cover art redesign assignment for French movie musical “The Young Girls of Rochefort” (1967) by Jacques Demy. The compositions were inspired by the jazzy dance numbers, characters’ love of instruments, the lively city they live in, and the pastel pictorials famous to this film. Using mixed media collage, each composition was handcut out of risograph prints and coloraid card to portray the vibrant musicality of the film.
